Our client is a leading provider of network equipment and mobile broad band solutions. To further strengthen and grow their R&D site in Duesseldorf, Germany we urgently seek severl Senior Software Design Engineers (m/f). You will work as an experienced software design engineer to support the software development team in embedded software development of mobile network equipment.

Location: Duesseldorf, Germany
Start: ASAP (within the next 1-3 months)

The role:

  • gives you the opportunity to learn more about mobile broadband solutions
  • coach other team members to solve complex engineering problems
  • drive technical solutions, create specifications, review deliverables from team members
  • design and implement efficient, reliable and maintainable software code using the C/C++ programming language
  • make sure that you deliver thouroughly tested code and that faults are fixed
  • utilize the laboratory equipment, including traffic generators, protocol analysers, simulators and debuggers
  • use agile software development techniques
  • interact closely with hardware, system specification, system integration and system testing teams
  • contribute to continuously improve the quality of products and development processes
  • act as a proactive team player in an enthusiastic and powerful group of experienced software design engineers

Required skills:

  • BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical subject
  • strong expertise in C/C++ embedded software development under Unix/Linux, GCC, GDB, GNU build system
  • Internet Protocol knowledge (IPv4/IPv6), including socket programming and routing/switching know how
  • experience in version control systems and debugging environments

Nice to Have:

  • TCL/TK and Perl
  • technical expertise in the telecommunication domain, e.g. WCDMA/LTE
  • experience in Linux driver and kernel development
  • knowledge of multi-core network processor environments
  • software configuration management experience with Subversion
