We are searching for a full-time "Operations & Data Center Specialist (m/f)" to join our client on a permanent basis in Munich. Our client is a full-service technology consulting firm supplying state of the art solutions and innovative ideas across several industry sectors (just to name a few: automotive, banking, telecommunications, aerospace/defence, R&D, e-commerce, ...). You will be working mostly at customer sites where you are supporting implemented solutions, roll-out new ideas and provide technical analysis as well as be the technical first point of contact.

Required Skills:

Considering the versatility of their customers and different projects this position requires a true "all-rounder" or somebody who is keen on progressing on several parallel levels. You must be able to multitask and display a keen interest on the big picture as well as have the technical background to "zoom-in" at a very deep technical (low) level. You support customers in the whole field of operations and data centers. Activities vary from setting up clusters, setup an application server infrastructure and a comprehensive monitoring system, setup of high-end networking with participation in the worldwide internet routing, or the steering of external providers. Possible assignments in this wide area range from strategies over precise concepts and planning up to the actual roll-out and implementation.

This position requires:

  • structured and methodical thinking
  • monitor network and services and evaluate operational data
  • server & SAN administration
  • expertise in at least one of the main Unix/Linux distributions or Windows
  • experience with concepts and setup of clusters, large networks and critical applications
  • experience with data center strategies, automation and IT security and security auditing
  • devise strategies for setup or migration of data-centers
  • advanced knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Shell, Python, Bash, Sed, Awk, ...)
  • prepared to learn about the requirements of clients and get an understanding of the their industry
  • your command of the German and English language is excellent
  • willingness to travel
